Liverpool manager Arne Slot has revealed Liverpool’s plans to bring in new players as early as possible. The Reds want to build on a successful league campaign and strengthen the squad in key positions.

“We just want good players. Ideally you sign them as early as you can”. – Arne Slot

Slot revealed that Liverpool has been working on a number of transfer targets before now and that efforts are being made to bring in good players quickly.

“This club doesn’t start working on transfers from today, there has already been so much hard work done on targets” –Arne Slot

The Reds have already signed Jeremy Frimpong this summer to replace departing right back Trent Alexander, a move that shows clearly the direction Liverpool want to go in the market.

Slot doesn’t expect many new signings though and the club is likely to keep it precise and decisive with their signings.

“It would be weird if we were completely different, but we have to adapt, Slot said on Sky Sports. If there is a possibility, you try to strengthen it with players you bring in” –Arne Slot

He however admitted that the Club’s will have to improve in key positions in preparation for a tougher next season.

“We need to be better next season because the competition will probably be even better next season as well. You always have to try to become better.” –Arne Slot

Liverpool are interested in signing Hungarian left back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth. Interestingly, the player seemed to have posted a cryptic goodbye message to the Bournemouth fans on the final day of the season. Talks are also in progress for Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, whom the Reds are favourites to sign after Man City pulled out of negotiations. Liverpool are hopeful their new status as Premier League Champions will help them land their transfer targets without hassle.
