The 2025/26 season is well and truly on. Lot’s of opening weekend surprises across the leagues as new signings made their debuts in various clubs. The stand out result for me was Tottenham Hotspur’s emphatic 3-0 win over Burnley. Although I did expect Spurs to win that game, the manner in which they won was quite impressive. Even more impressive were Richarlison’s two goals and Mohammed Kudus’ dream debut. Elsewhere in the Premier League Ekitike opened his Liverpool account, while there was no dream debut for Chelsea’s new signings. Also lots of Champions League, Europa League and Conference League matches took place in midweek as the race for group stage inclusions begins.
