Manchester City are reported to have currently left the negotiations for Florian Wirtz after Bayer Leverkusen reportedly values the German midfielder in the excess of £145 million.
Talks between the two sides were never advanced, but City who are looking to rebuild their team had hopes of signing the 22 year old this summer. However they have been told that they would have to cough out over £145 million for the transfer of Wirtz. A package Man City believe is too expensive, according to BBC football.

Florian Wirtz has been one of Leverkusen’s standout players under manager Xabi Alonso and has attracted interests from big clubs such as Bayern Munich, Man City and Real Madrid. City have however ended their pursuit for the midfielder as the total package for the deal to happen is “too expensive”.
The Manchester side would consider other transfer targets such as Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White and Dani Olmo from Barcelona, as well as Dutch midfielder Tijani Reijnders who currently plays for Milan.

Pep Guardiola would be hoping City land most of their transfer targets as he looks to strengthen the squad after a forgettable season. City’s midfield is aging, Gundogan is 34, Kovacic is 31, Bernardo Silva is 30, with Kevin De Bruyne leaving this summer, the midfielder is definitely top priority for Pep and Manchester City in the transfer market this summer.
