Manchester City are linked with many hot prospects this summer but Pep Guardiola has revealed his number one target; A defender!
Former Chelsea Academy graduate Tino Livramento who now plays for Newcastle have been identified as a top transfer target for Man City as they hope to replace Kyle Walker with the young right back.
As per Fabrizio Romano, City are keen to sign the 22 years old and are prepared to offload Kyle Walker as he is not in Pep Guardiola’s plans for the Club World Cup or next season.
Newcastle however would require some financial convincing to let go of Livramento who is considered an important asset for the Club. So City would be expecting a huge asking price as the negotiations won’t be easy.
Man City did not have the best of seasons this term and an active transfer window is expected from the Etihad outfit. Replacing Kyle Walker is very crucial and the club will hope to sign some creative midfielders to cover for the departing Kevin De Bruyne.
The Cityzens have reportedly began club to club talks with AC Milan for Tijjani Reijnders as a top target and are expected to submit an opening bid soon.
City are also in search of a striker to compete with Erling Haaland but the defensive positions are priority right now. With Pep having told Man City to prune their squad as a condition for him to remain at the club, the Sky Blues would need to be pin point accurate with their signings this summer. Also they need to be swift considering that the Club World Cup is around the corner.
Other targets include Italy and Juventus right back, Nicolo Savona and Lyon’s 21 years old midfielder, Ryan Cherki. Man City are not interested in signing Florian Wirtz as they consider the midfielder too expensive.
